This is one that i have been working on for a long time. I made the canvas myself, as i wanted to try working in a large scale. I first made a completely different painting. This hung in the living room for a long time, but i never got that good feeling when i looked at it. S, i killed my baby again, and painted over it in several layers. This is the final result, using napkins to create a colorful pattern for the huge flowers. I found it hard to photograph, as the scale is part of what makes the painting work, so below are a couple of attempts.
What did I learn
- I love working with large shapes, larger than real life. It gives them a new feel, when they are enlarged like this.
- I like to combine collage with strong line drawing.
- Use line drawing style for new ideas, and develop the line by drawing more.
