Can life possibly be interresting after the fireworks from New Zealand has left? Gotta give it a try at least, The pearl called Renee left me with new confidence that i can actually use color, and the “just do it” attitude, so here we go:
Flirting with acrylics
Not so used to colors, but after several layers, i got to a point where i was reasonably happy. More of this, this is fun!
Sleepless in Sandnes
A steroid a day keeps mr. sleepy away. At 3.30 i gave up, and got up. Found an article on how to make mandalas. Started doodling and at about 5.30 i had finished drawing over the pencil with ink. Not the best choice of materials, watercolor paper and ink, got a bit messy where the line rather needed to be delicate.
A few days later i added color. Very meditative, to color in your own mandala. Feel quite attached to it afterwards, in here sits all the thoughts I thought whilst making it. Makes me resistant to giving it away, unless the thoughts i thought were happy ones. It looks pretty happy though. Happy colors.
Creating our castle
As soon as all the visitors had left for the summer, we got quite excited about making our new pad look good. The bedroom faces the forest. On clear days you can lie in bed and look straight up into the starry sky. I hear the little stream coming down the grassy hill outside. Unless i need the toilet, it’s a very relaxing sound to fall asleep to. In the morning i wake up the the view of the 50m trad wall, just up the hill, peaking up over the forest. It reminds me it will still be there when i have recovered, ready for more adventures to share with good friends.
Heidi’s room
My very own yoga/meditation/sauna room. Quite the luxury after living 3 years in 30sq meters, where every inch counted. Now a whole ROOM just for BREATHING! Ooohmhshakalaka!
Next bit of fun
Bought these at Fretex. Wishing Renee was here to share ideas of what we can make from them. But, even without here, I am sure i can come up with something better then “love” – Even though love is all we need…
Footnotes…
Got stuck in the rain with Arion. Waited for an hour next to the dump/recycle bin at the supermarket. Arion is fortunately very entertaining so it felt like ten minutes. It can be nice to be forced to watch the summer rain for an hour.
Beach o’clock
With some snorkling action, swimming at such a late hour, that it felt like Kirsti and I were inside the sunset.
- Result: 5 days of agonizing muscles.
- Lesson learnt: it was totally worth it.
