I zoom right in, on these squashed lips, making them the focus of the painting. Going in so close is always quite daunting, as the smallest details had to be right, a minor mistake will stand out like a pimple.
I used surprisingly long time for this small 25 x 25 canvas. Again, a photo reference with little details, and not enough resolution. I never learn.
