In January 2016 I took a month trip to New Zealand to see my lovely paint buddy Renee, aka scatterlings, and her adventurous husband David. Renee and I spent 3 weeks trying to learn about portrait painting. We started up trying a fantastic tutorial by Jane Spakowsky, Beyond skin deep. I loved it so much, I set a challenge for myself to complete 20 portraits and see where it would take me and what I would learn. 2 days before 2019 is about to begin, I completed my last one, nr. 20. And here you can, in descending order, see how the journey went! I can still see the inspiration from the Jane Spakowsky workshop, although I hope it has evolved into something that is also a bit Heidi style! Thank you Jane and Renee, for opening up a door into a colourful adventure!
